Jason Momoa Wraps Lobo Role in DCU’s Supergirl, Minecraft Movie Soars

Info in Movie News | Jason Momoa has officially wrapped filming on his highly anticipated debut as Lobo in Supergirl, Woman of Tomorrow. The actor, who’s also currently lighting up the box office in A Minecraft Movie, shared the news via Instagram, expressing his gratitude to the crew and showing off a special Minecraft-themed electric bike he received as a wrap gift.

According to Collider, the DC Studios project was launched in January 2025 and it is already on the home stretch. Jason Momoa was documented in some videos riding in his new pink S-Works Levo bike around London. “THATS A WRAP ON LOBO, so thankful to play this role,” he wrote, adding thanks to the team at Specialized for what he called “the greatest bike I have ever ridden.”

The movie stars House of the Dragon breakout Milly Alcock as Supergirl, joined by a solid cast including David Krumholtz, Emily Beecham, and Eve Ridley. Behind the scenes, it’s helmed by Craig Gillespie, best known for I, Tonya, with a script penned by Ana Nogueira, who’s also currently writing an upcoming Teen Titans project. Woman of Tomorrow, the awaited toon that has been adapted from a 2021 comic with the same title, will be the DC Universe's fresh blood.

The story is still the secret that was not leaked so far, like James Gunn, a co-boss of DC Studios, always keeps. Nevertheless, the movie is officially scheduled for release on June 26, 2026. As always with major tentpole releases, delays are possible, but excitement is already building.

On the other hand, Momoa's newest movie, A Minecraft the Movie, is playing along with Jack Black and Emma Myers, continues to be a major hit at the global box office. The movie has earned $280.9 million from the North American box office and another $273.8 million from the international box office as of April 14, 2025. The total of $552.7 million is a huge amount and it has definitely made the movie the highest-grossing one for 2025 so far, also second in the list of top-grossing video game adaptations of all time with the first one being The Super Mario Bros. Movie.
