Info in Movie News | David Arquette and Jeremy Luke are trading in the badge for bribes in Mob Cops, a gritty crime thriller arriving in theaters, on digital platforms, and via video-on-demand on April 25, 2025. The movie plunges into the dark underbelly of the NYPD, where loyalty is for sale and the line between lawman and outlaw fades fast.

According to Collider, an exclusive sneak peek from the movie features Arquette as Sammy Canzano and Luke as Leo Benetti—two streetwise cops in way too deep. In the clip, the pair meet with a mob boss who’s already been greasing their palms. And like that, they want something more. Not just one or the other, but a regular monthly salary: $4,000 and some extra bonuses if something extra the crime boss wants will be done. The demand is not something the mobster is willing to bear and the room has become tense as the two cops stay resolute. The atmosphere in the room feels dense and the tension is immensely positive, which is threatening.

Danny A. Abeckaser, who is also the main actor, directed the movie with a script that was his longtime friend Kosta Kondilopoulos' writing. The pair have previously collaborated on various projects such as "I Love Us," "Inside Man," and "The Engineer." Rounding out the cast are familiar faces like Kevin Connolly (Entourage), Joseph Russo (The Offer), Montana Tucker, Nathaniel Buzolic (Hacksaw Ridge), Bo Dietl (Carlito’s Way), and Leila Ben Khalifa (Maskoun).

Though fictional, Mob Cops draws inspiration from the jaw-dropping true story of NYPD detectives Stephen Caracappa and Louis Eppolito—two real-life officers who moonlighted as Mafia hitmen. Both were ultimately convicted and sentenced to life for racketeering and murder. Eppolito, interestingly, even dabbled in Hollywood with roles in Goodfellas and Predator 2. Filled with tension, the period grit, and moral complexity, the Mob Cops series do not stop till the end of the season and will give a clear stage for the discussion of power, greed, and what happens when the cops become the criminals.
