According to Collider, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige recently confirmed that discussions are already underway to keep both actors around beyond their upcoming movie. Speaking during a roundtable interview for Fantastic Four, Feige acknowledged that he and his team are in regular communication with Ryan Reynolds, and that they’re not looking at Deadpool & Wolverine as a one-and-done project.
“There have absolutely been discussions,” Feige stated. “We’re in touch with Ryan a lot. So the answer is yes.”
When pressed about Jackman, Feige gave a typically cheeky Marvel-style response, referencing one of the movie’s lines and saying Jackman would be doing it “till he’s 90, man.” The comment, while playful, strongly hints that Marvel is exploring ways to keep Wolverine active in the MCU, even after what was originally believed to be a one-time multiverse reunion.
And Hugh Jackman isn’t exactly shutting down the speculation either. There was an incident on The View when Sunny Hostin, the host, asked him directly if he was going to be in Avengers: Doomsday, the gigantic crossover movie that is set to come out on December 18, 2026. His response? Classic Marvel deflection.
“I really can't say much, except when you say ‘appear,’ [it’s] more like dominate and destroy every other character, I’m kidding,” Jackman joked. “I really have nothing to add, and if I did, I would find a really cool way to not say it, but I actually have nothing to add.”
That kind of answer should sound familiar. It’s the same brand of non-confirmation that Andrew Garfield, Patrick Stewart, and Tobey Maguire used before their surprise returns in Marvel projects. Jackman’s evasiveness is now less about secrecy and more about tradition and fans who are aware of the usual pattern.
To add fuel to fire, the next Avengers: Doomsday movie has already been announced to include various X-Men actors such as Stewart (Professor X), Ian McKellen (Magneto), and James Marsden (Cyclops).
