Val Kilmer, Star of Top Gun and Batman Forever, Passes Away

Info in Movie News | Val Kilmer was a huge movie star with such big blockbusters as Top Gun, Batman Forever, Tombstone, and Willow, but even the time comes when everyone must leave the stage, and Val Kilmer, the legendary artist, passed away on Tuesday, April 1, in Los Angeles. The New York Times released the news to the public first and based their report about Mercedes Kilmer, his daughter, who said that pneumonia was the cause. Kilmer was once found out with throat cancer, starting in 2015, but reported cancer-free in 2017.

Val Edward Kilmer, was in fact born in Los Angeles on December 31, 1959. The information came from a report by Collider, he made his first steps in showbiz in the early 1980s, but it was the part of Iceman in Top Gun (1986) that made him famous. The movie turned out to be a massive hit in the 1980s, bringing in $357 million on a $15 million budget. In The Doors (1991) directed by Oliver Stone, Kilmer made an impact on viewers when he played Jim Morrison and so proved that his acting skills were multi-faceted. Up to now his performance has not lost its brilliant shine.

In the late 1990s, Mr. Kilmer became a famous figure in Hollywood. It was in 1993 when the character of one of the most ruthless and deadliest killers, Doc Holliday, in the film Tombstone came and it was followed by other Kilmer's figure of that time, along with his co-stars Kurt Russell and Sam Elliott, as one of the most outstanding ones. In Batman Forever of 1995, he assumed the part of Batman. People indeed didn't have one bad word to say about his acting, all very fine and rare, although the movie itself wasn't as fortunate in terms of positive reviews. Kilmer's acting, on the other hand, was particularly accredited from the side of serving a cool, mysterious character.

Aside from being an action star, Kilmer also explored different movie genres. In At First Sight (1999), he depicted a person who had been blind and could see clearly again. During an interview, one of the co-stars of the movie, Mira Sorvino, publicly expressed her opinion of Kilmer as being professional, kind, and a pleasure to work with.

Kilmer was not only a screen actor but also managed to pass on his acting talent to the children, Mercedes and Jack Kilmer, both of whom have entered the field and started acting careers.
