Info in Movie News | Wednesday Addams is back at Nevermore Academy, and no, she’s not thrilled about it. With new enemies lurking, a stalker sending cryptic threats, and her name now plastered all over campus like some reluctant rockstar, Wednesday’s sophomore year is shaping up to be even stranger than the last. According to The Guardian, Season 2 opens with a flash of chaos. After saving Nevermore from the undead pilgrim Joseph Crackstone in Season 1, Wednesday has earned a cult-like following among her peers. However, the goth queen of gloom is rather unimpressed. However, the goth queen of gloom is not satisfied. “I liked it better when I was feared and hated,” she grumbles, while her peers gather around her, begging for autographs. But there’s no time for admiration, or personal space. Within minutes of the first episode, we’re introduced to a fresh villain, the Kansas City Scalper. He’s a doll-collecting, serial-killing dog groomer in a velour tracksuit played with greasy ...

Jujutsu Kaisen Movie Brings Gojo, Geto’s Backstory Back to Theaters

Jujutsu Kaisen Movie Brings Gojo, Geto’s Backstory Back to Theaters

Info in Movie News | While fans wait patiently for any updates on Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3, there’s something exciting coming this summer. The previously announced compilation movie, Jujutsu Kaisen: Hidden Inventory / Premature Death, will hit theaters in the U.S. for a limited engagement on July 16 and 17, 2025. GKIDS, the movie’s U.S. distributor, just dropped the English dub trailer, and it’s enough to stir up major nostalgia.

Instead of focusing on a new storyline, this movie for the big screen mostly highlights the biggest moments from the Hidden Inventory and Premature Death story arcs of Season 2. These chapters are incredibly significant to fans as they trace the childhood of the most-loved characters, Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto, revealing the cause of the transition of their relationship from the best of friends to bitter enemies.

According to Collider, the movie adopts a more cinematic point of view to depict the initial period when Gojo and Geto were starting their partnership at the time of their studies at Jujutsu High. The fandom is going to be given another opportunity to see their friendship deepening, disagreements in their thoughts and the job that broke their friendship forever. Satoru Gojo is voiced by Yūichi Nakamura in the Japanese version and Kaiji Tang in English, while Suguru Geto is voiced by Takahiro Sakurai and Lex Lang for the respective languages.

Though, to be honest, the story in a nutshell is familiar to loyal series fans, seeing it on the cinema screen is definitely expected to evoke some different feelings. The strongest sorcerer, Satoru Gojo, who is often mentioned among the brightest sorcerers in the whole universe, isn’t merely a fighter. His emotional growth along with his internal struggle are the most important parts if we want to understand his part in Yuji Itadori’s road and the whole jujutsu world.

At the same time, a story of the character of Suguru Geto is the same main. The contrast between his ideals and Gojo’s growing pragmatism becomes the most powerful theme within the whole series, and it is this complexity that makes their common history so appealing in a movie theatre format. Once an idealist determined to save non-sorcerers, Geto’s eventual disillusionment leads him down a much darker path.

Besides, the movie is carrying more and more attractive stuff that is even more bonus video called Jujutsu Stroll. While the new project is in the dark, the section is supposed to depict a humorous side of the three characters Gojo, Geto, and Shoko Ieiri that share the little time they have. It is going to be a much more informal and personal view of those characters, which is great, especially for the series' hardcore fans, who are used to it being always intense and full of action.

Season 3 is still up in the air so to speak. There were no doubt that the decision has been made by MAPPA to produce the 3rd season after Season 2 has been aired in December 2023 but they are still silent about an exact date for the release. The largest announcement is expected to come next month at the Anime Expo, which takes place in early July, and where Jujutsu Kaisen will have a featured panel. Next season is supposed to go over the Culling Game arc, which is not only the darkest but also the most extensive in Gege Akutami’s manga.

MAPPA, the studio behind hits like Chainsaw Man, Attack on Titan Final Season, and Dorohedoro, is still on its way to making its name known for the production of visually fantastic and emotionally compelling anime. Jujutsu Kaisen is of course not an exception, and this forthcoming movie only adds to the excitement for the new one.

If you’ve been waiting for a reason to rewatch Gojo and Geto’s rise and fall, this time with movie-quality visuals and sound, July 16 and 17 are your only chances. Don’t miss the chance to experience it all on the big screen.
