The Haunted Palace: SBS Historical Fantasy Korean Drama with Yook Sungjae in a Dual Role


Info in Movie News | Yook Sungjae is destined to win over the hearts of the audience with his two distinct characters in the upcoming SBS drama, the Hounted Palace. The Historical-fantasy drama is about Yoon Gap, a royal librarian who is possessed by the spirit of an Imugi, Gang Cheol Yi. Looks complicated situation when he meets Yeo RI (Bona WJSN), a clairvoyant who is doing her best to go againt her destiny and King Yi Sung (Kim Ji Hoon) who becomes the victim of the vengeful creature Eight Feet Tall.

Having a complete makeover, Yook SUngjae translates his personalities through two faces- the one og the courteous and dignified Yoon Gap and of the untamed, enigmatic Gang Cheol Yi. The on-screen chemistry, innovative plot, and captivating production expected dramas this year. It is set to start airing in April, and the show is geared up for the audience to be taken on a mysterious journey into a world of magic!

According to Soompi, the most fascinating part of the drama is the unique stirs between Yoon Gap and Yeo Ri. Yoon Gap is an ideal man at first who is adored by many women but when he and his family are haunted by the presence of Gang Cheol Yi, he turns into an unpredictable character. Yeo Ri takes this twist as a thoughest task, beacuse, she has to confront the spirit that she has hated the most and also deal with the body of the man whom she has loved before.

Besides the love story and supernatural elements as the main point, The Haunted Palace also contains an extra charge of political events through the character of King Yi Sung. In order to lead the people of Joseon, he has to face not only the preservation of his own nation but also other issues. The human world is in a constant struggle with the spirit world, which is a fact that complicates the matter, so we are able to see more of the exciting tension.

By virtue of its chimeric story treatment and the arguments forms of its cast, this Korean drama is undoubtedly set to be an absolute winner project for SBS this year. Yook Sungjae's fans and lovers of historical-fantasy K-dramas are urged on The Haunted Palace which is to premiere next April!
