New Japan Drama, Since That Day You Were Taken Away: Revenge and Dark Secrets

Info in Movie News | Keiko Kitagawa is set to return to the small screen in the drama "Anata wo Ubatta Sono Hi kara" (Since That Day You Were Taken Away), scheduled to premiere on April 7, 2025 on Fuji TV and Kansai TV.

According to ktv, the drama, slated for the Spring of 2025, explores the emotional journey of a mother who loses her child in an accident at a food store. Driven by rage and sorrow, she abducts the daughter of the store owner, hoping to make him experience the same pain. However, her decision reveals larger secrets than she had anticipated.

Hiromi Nakagoshi or Keiko Kitagawa plays the grieving mother, forced to confront Asahi Yuki, played by Naohito Omori, the store owner now mourning his daughter's loss. In the meantime, investigative journalist Sawa Azuma, portrayed by Sawa Nimura, begins to suspect that the accident was not just a regular incident. Her ongoing search for hidden facts causes tension between her and the individuals implicated in the case.

Additionally, Japan's only daughter, Ririko Yuki, played by Yuna Taira, carries a deep-rooted trauma from her family life filled with chaos. As the story progresses, her character development brings out an unlikely bad part of her. Her private tutor's inclusion, Takeshi Kumura, played by Ryohei Abe, adds another layer to the complex web and complicating the matter even further. The suspense-filled drama, with almost all characters trying to unreal a hidden agenda, will have you on the edge of your seat with each episode.

In the capable hands of a seasoned crew, "Since That Day You Were Taken Away" brings the best of both worlds to the table in the form of a psychological thriller and a powerful emotional drama. Series is directed by Hajime Matsuki and written by Natsuko Ikeda, so the show is a complexity of the turned the wrong way story, which will result in more and more clues for the viewer.
