The Last of Us Season 2 Confirmed to Air on Max on April 13, 2025


Info in Movie News | Season 2 of the hit series, 'The Last of Us,' has been confirmed to air on Max on April 13, 2025. The news was broken by Max on its social media account, two years after the first season's premiere back in 2023.

Max fired up fans' anticipation by releasing several posters of the second season's characters, including Joel, Ellie, and Abby. The posters showcase each main character against their specific backgrounds, setting the scene for the new season.

"Every path has a price. #TheLastOfUs returns April 13 on Max," declared Max on social media on Thursday, February 20, 2025.

In the posters, Joel (Pedro Pascal) lounges on his weather-beaten watch, a keepsake from his daughter, now holding a shotgun. Ellie (Bella Ramsey) also has a rifle and a knife, resting above a guitar, a reminder of her heartbreaking musical bond with Joel in the forthcoming season.

Also included is Abby (Kaitlyn Dever), rocking her signature braids and holding a pistol. The second season, based on the video game The Last of Us Part II, is set five years after the events of the show’s first season. It finds Joel and Ellie living a more settled existence with Tommy (Gabriel Luna) and Maria (Rutina Wesley).

Their life is enlivened by the arrival of new characters such as Dina (Isabela Merced) and Jesse (Young Mazino). However, their lives take a dramatic turn when an incident involves Joel, revealing ties to Abby and her companions in Fireflies.

The Last of Us season 2 will feature all new kinds of infected, from stalkers, clickers and bloaters to the dread one that is a rat king. Creators Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann are still at the helm of production.

Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey are back as Joel and Ellie, with returning and new cast members joining them, including Gabriel Luna as Tommy, Rutina Wesley as Maria and newcomers Kaitlyn Dever, Isabela Merced, Young Mazino, Ariela Barer, Danny Ramirez, Tati Gabrielle and Jeffrey Wright.

Anticipating the intense storylines, action, and development that 'The Last of Us' Season 2 will bring has fans buzzing with excitement following the announcement.
