Starring Sofia Carson, The Life List is Set to Release on March 28, 2025

Info in Movie News | Netflix is set to release its latest romantic comedy-drama, The Life List. Scheduled to premiere on March 28, 2025, the film is an adaptation of Lori Nelson Spielman’s novel and was written and directed by Adam Brooks.

It tells the story of Alex Rose (Sofia Carson) as she is a young woman going through one of the most difficult events in her life. After losing her mother, Elizabeth (Connie Britton), Alex meets with a lawyer (Kyle Allen) to settle legal matters. There, she receives a DVD containing a recorded message from her late mother.

As for Alex, the film’s protagonist, there are times when she appears to be losing nerve, feeling trapped and overwhelmed by self-doubt and fear. But still she sets out to find herself, inspired by her mother’s words and the life list written by her 13-year-old self.

The Life List captures the journey of living juxtaposed with a flow of pain along with joy, struggle with triumph, fear with courage. It… teaches you to find yourself and learn from your history, and eventually forgive your past. And how imperfect it may be, and how ugly, it may present itself in your present.

The film also touches on the idea of a life list — a list of things you wish to do, see or experience. Each character in the film has had a life list, if in the most explicit sense or the abstract potential of something. These life lists become anchors, motivators that force the characters to leave the confines of their comfort zones, to confront their fears and get closer to who they aspire to be.

Adam Brooks, speaking to Entertainment Weekly, spoke similarly about timing in life. “What’s interesting is that Alex has to confront her life list on the verge of her 30th birthday. It puts her in the unique position of facing her previous ambitions and dreams with the knowledge of who she is now.”

On her character, Sofia Carson said, “Alex is very relatable. We all experience doubt and fear; need to find a way out of a stuck place. That’s why I was so drawn to her. I think lots of audiences will see a bit of themselves in Alex.”

A potent, stirring, and incisive {The Life List } is a touching narrative about the abundant, gorgeous, complicated nature of life. It instructs the readers how to connect with adversity, how to adapt to the idea of change, and how to find pleasure in the adventure of self-discovery. In its essence, The Life List is also a love letter — a love letter to oneself, to those who have impacted our paths, and to life itself.

The Life List is set to be a legit rom-com, it is the one with a love life story, a romantic, the man and the dost, the funniest, the girl with the most. It challenges its watchers to rethink their dreams and aspirations, to capture the present moment and to realize that it's never too late to create a life that one loves.

Netflix has been collecting a few good thumbs ups; it hasn't changed a bit when it comes to funny, losing it, feat and the drama scenes. The Life List will get the most attention and hence it will be the beloved Netflix gem in the 2025 time table of much-awaited titles.
