Keanu Reeves: Constantine 2 Officially in Development

Info in Movie News | Nearly two decades after the release of Constantine in 2005, it is confirmed by Keanu Reeves that its sequel is officially under development stage. This project got the green light from DC Studios with the return of director Francis Lawrence and writer Akiva Goldsman. This paves the way for Reeves to don the iconic coat of John Constantine once again in a darker and more tormented supernatural adventure. 

As reported by Variety, Keanu Reeves, along with the Inverse and Happy Sad Confused Podcast, confirmed that the sequel of Constantine (2005) is now officially in development. He has once again joined hands with director Francis Lawrence and writer Akiva Goldsman, to devise the story and got the approval from DC Studios.

With Inverse, Reeves revealed that he and his team have been busting their asses on the development of Constantine 2 for more than ten years. He revealed that they recently came up with a story and pitched it to DC Studios, who have say 'okey'.

Although not revealing the plot's details, Reeves confirmed that this movie will keep the dark tone that characterizes Constantine. "We'll stay in that world," he said, adding that the character John Constantine would experience many more torments.

In a Happy Sad Confused Podcast, Francis Lawrence said that his team was very enthusiastic about this project. "We have some really great ideas that we are excited about. I think we are close to having something that could really work," he said.

With Keanu Reeves reprising his iconic long coat, Constantine 2 becomes one of the films most anticipated by action and supernatural fans.
