Squid Game 3 was announced, will premiere on June 27 This Year

Info in Movie News | There’s no word on exact dates, but we expect Season 3 of Squid Game to hit Netflix in 2025. Squid Game 3 schedule was officially confirmed one month after the second season aired on 26 December 2024.

Netflix, the production house and streaming service that airs the series, announced that the final season of Squid Game would be released in June 2025.

“Do you have what it takes for the last game? The announcement on Netflix’s social media account read, ”Squid Game season three premieres June 27.

The news was dropped alongside a new poster featuring the outline of the murderous Young-hee doll and a new male counterpart, named Chul-su, suggesting that even more savage games are about to go down.

Furthermore, armed soldiers can be seen dragging a player across a flower-filled field toward a coffin. The player, number 214, died in the final episode of Squid Game 2 during the Special Game.

Squid Game Season 3 will conclude the story of Gi-hun (played by Lee Jung-jae). This character won the game at the end of Season 1, but he couldn't relax and enjoy his life when others were dying.

Instead, he used the money he won to track down those responsible. He planned a revenge plot, but unfortunately, he was trapped back in the game. 

However, this situation was accompanied by dark changes, especially after the death of Jung-bae, a player numbered 390 who was Gi-hun's friend, at the end of the second season's storyline.

Therefore, Squid Game 3 will explore the choices that Gi-hun will make in the midst of extreme despair.

On the other hand, the Front Man (played by Lee Byung-hun) is planning his next move, the surviving players discover that their decisions lead to increasingly horrific consequences in every round of the deadly game.

Squid Game 2 became the third most-watched series on Netflix, gathering 68 million views upon its debut – a record for the most views in a premiere week.

This Korean show also topped the list of Top 10 TV Series (Non-English) in 92 countries. As the final chapter opens, Netflix promises that Squid Game season three will deliver a spectacular and unforgettable ending.
