Netflix set to release Squid Game 2 on December 26, 2024, and announced Squid Game 3 in 2025

Infoinmovie |  Netflix has confirmed that season 2 of the highly-anticipated series “Squid Game” will be released at the end of this year. According to the official announcement, the sequel will be released on December 26. It is the return of “Squid Game,” three years after the first season debuted.

It also declared that “Squid Game” would continue, with a third and final season planned for 2025.

As fans wait with anticipation for news about season two, Netflix has dropped a teaser for “Squid Game 2” that starts as the participants prepare have to compete in the deadly life and death games. In a track within an arena, contestants are seen preparing to enter the race, donning the iconic green tracksuits from the first season in the teaser. And those dramatic scenes are a precursor of the high-stake challenges that are to come.

Announcing the completion of production activities, the production reported that it finished the filming three days after a closing ceremony on June 11 and 12. It has also been confirmed that lead actor Lee Jung-jae will reprise his role, as will some familiar faces who featured heavily in season one, including Gong Yoo, Lee Byung-hun and Wi Ha-joon. Furthermore, in the upcoming second season the cast will welcome a fresh batch of actors, such as Park Gyu-young, Choi Seung-hyun or T.O.P, Lee Jin-wook, Jo Yuri, Won Ji-an, and Kang Ae-sim.

Acclaimed filmmaker Hwang Dong-hyuk, an Emmy Award winner for the direction of the first season of “Squid Game,” returns to direct and executive produce all episodes of season two. or approximately Rp1. 16 trillion, “Squid Game 2” is a massive endeavor. Reportedly, filming is in effect after locking down the casting process over the summer.

It’s worth mentioning that “Squid Game” hit Netflix as the beginning of 2021, and then managed to suck viewers into its harrowing plot about 456 people vying for 45.6 billion won by playing games based on childhood play time.
