The sci-fi thriller "Origin (2018)" tells the story of a group of passengers traveling on the spaceship "Origin" to the planet Thea, which is a planet far away capable of supporting human life. At the beginning of the story, Shun Kenzaki wakes up from deep sleep with no memory and panic to see that he is out of the vessel and the vessel is ringing with heratening alarms. Together with Lana Pierce, his fellow passenger, they soon explore the ship and they soon realize that no crew members have woken up, only the passengers have. The team will thus search the spaceship with the understanding of the crews' absence and the fact that there is something which has really gone wrong.

Bother Shun, a member of the Yakuza from Tokyo, Shun was on a mission to Thea to flee his criminal past he was guilty of. His brother Takeshi, a police officer, advised him to go to Thea and toxic things out. Takeshi was the one who was killed by Yakuza, which made Shun leave the Earth.
Lana Pierce:
A determined and African-passenger Alana who commits to Shun's leadership and the two embark on a quest to solve the disaster of the spaceship which was deserted.
Baum Arndt:
A passenger with a habit of often acting without a thought that makes the whole situation more complex for the group. He willingly triggers the events that cause a member of the group to fall to their death in the process.
Lee Jeong-in:
Another passenger was part of the inquiry and assisted in the configuration and system setup that shed light on the ship's status.
Their journey through the ship led them to a control room filled with deserted food and bloodstains that indicate a hurried evacuation. Through flashbacks, Shun's previous life is showcased, depicting his struggle with criminal life and also the demise of his brother in a tragic way. The passengers are to face the ship's dangerous environment, clear some of the shadows from the lurking threats, and establish stepping stones of survival until Thea has time to send a rescue team or they can somehow escape the place.
Origin presents a suspenseful and complicated story set in space, that combines the characters' backgrounds with the mystery the happening inside the spaceship.
