Final Episode House of the Dragon Season 2 Leaked, HBO Aggressively Removing Clips from the Internet

Info In Movie News
 |  HBO has spoken out about the leaked final episode of the second season of House of the Dragon on social media ahead of its official airing on Sunday (4/8).

The production house revealed that the leaked episode was due to a third-party distributor. However, HBO did not specifically mention which region's distributor was responsible for the leak.

"We are aware that clips from the final episode of the season of House of the Dragon have appeared on various social media platforms," HBO's statement quoted from The Hollywood Reporter on Wednesday (31/7) said.

"The clips were uploaded after being inadvertently released by an international third-party distributor," they revealed.

In light of this, HBO is actively monitoring the situation and will remove any leaked videos still circulating on social media.

"HBO aggressively monitoring and removing clips from the internet. And fans can watch the full episode  this Sunday night (U.S. time) on HBO and Max," they emphasized.

Previously, several videos containing scenes from the final episode of the second season of House of the Dragon were uploaded on TikTok.

These videos recorded using another device and then uploaded to TikTok yesterday. The TikTok account profile of the culprit was said to have no other videos, leading to suspicion that the account was solely used to spread the episode.

The account and videos have been taken down and deactivated. However, more than the leaked videos have already been viewed over 100,000 times.

Unfortunately, these actions were not sufficient, as the videos were re-uploaded and have been circulated on [social media platform].

This is not the first time House of the Dragon has suffered leaks ahead of the final episode. The same issue occurred before the official airing of the final episode of the first season of the Game of Thrones prequel series in October 2022.

At the time, HBO stated that the leaks were suspected to have come from distribution partners in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. They also pulled the leaked videos from the internet and regretted the incident that occurred two days before the official airing.

The final episode of the second season of House of the Dragon will officially air on Sunday (4/8) and also can be watched on HBO GO.
