Info in Movie News | Wednesday Addams is back at Nevermore Academy, and no, she’s not thrilled about it. With new enemies lurking, a stalker sending cryptic threats, and her name now plastered all over campus like some reluctant rockstar, Wednesday’s sophomore year is shaping up to be even stranger than the last. According to The Guardian, Season 2 opens with a flash of chaos. After saving Nevermore from the undead pilgrim Joseph Crackstone in Season 1, Wednesday has earned a cult-like following among her peers. However, the goth queen of gloom is rather unimpressed. However, the goth queen of gloom is not satisfied. “I liked it better when I was feared and hated,” she grumbles, while her peers gather around her, begging for autographs. But there’s no time for admiration, or personal space. Within minutes of the first episode, we’re introduced to a fresh villain, the Kansas City Scalper. He’s a doll-collecting, serial-killing dog groomer in a velour tracksuit played with greasy ...

Jared Harris Not Yet Contacted as Sherlock Holmes 3 Movie Stalls Again

Jared Harris Not Yet Contacted as Sherlock Holmes 3 Movie Stalls Again

Info in Movie News | It has been 15 years since Sherlock Holmes hit the theaters first time with Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law.  Guy Ritchie's movie certainly gave the reimagined detective character with lots of action, witty jokes, and amazing chemistry between Holmes and Watson.  The 2011 sequel Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows kept the streak going by introducing Jared Harris as the evil mastermind Professor Moriarty.

According to Collider, there were initial ideas, and plans maybe we would be seeing Sherlock Holmes 3 but the movie has been stuck in the “development hell” for more than ten years now. Originally, Warner Bros. wanted to release the movie in 2020, but due to a number of obstacles, it has not happened so far. The lack of any official statement about the launch date in 2024 and even worse is some cast members who are not aware of the situation at all.

Jared Harris, who played the central villain Moriarty in the second movie, recently shared that he hasn’t been contacted about returning. While promoting the new season of his sci-fi series Foundation, Harris admitted to The Direct that his name keeps getting attached to Sherlock Holmes 3, but no one has officially reached out to him.

“Yeah. I mean, I keep taking that down [on IMDb] and someone keeps putting it back up,” Harris said. “I have no idea. No one’s talking to me about it. And I really wish people would stop asking me … It should be on there. I mean, no one’s talking to me about it. I have no clue.”

His comments have cast more doubt on whether Sherlock Holmes 3 is actively moving forward. However, there is still some hope behind the scenes. Producer Susan Downey confirmed in June 2024 that the project is not dead, just waiting for the right story.

“We talk about it every day, ‘What is the best next version of that?’” Susan told Collider. “Anytime I see Robert and Jude together, which fortunately happens a few times a year, I think, ‘How do we get them back on screen?’ It’s magic. There needs to be a really strong reason, it needs to be a great story, and we do have some things in the works.”

One major change is the director. While Guy Ritchie helmed the first two movies, Dexter Fletcher (Rocketman, Eddie the Eagle) is expected to take over directing duties for the third. Jude Law previously confirmed that a script does exist, although he hadn’t read it yet.

The sequel movie made more than $543 million worldwide, which has unambiguously demonstrated that the audience still craves this incarnation of Sherlock Holmes. However, the situation is that the fans of the character get irritable with each passing moment. The longer it sticks around, the more the fans want and, thus, it becomes really challenging to get the original cast reunited.

At the moment, Sherlock Holmes 3 is definitely on the table but nowhere near being realized. There is no official filming schedule, no release date, and key characters such as Moriarty are not even informed. No fan can do anything except wishing that Holmes and Watson come back to solve another case until the script is finalized and filming begins.
