According to The Guardian, Season 2 opens with a flash of chaos. After saving Nevermore from the undead pilgrim Joseph Crackstone in Season 1, Wednesday has earned a cult-like following among her peers. However, the goth queen of gloom is rather unimpressed. However, the goth queen of gloom is not satisfied. “I liked it better when I was feared and hated,” she grumbles, while her peers gather around her, begging for autographs. But there’s no time for admiration, or personal space. Within minutes of the first episode, we’re introduced to a fresh villain, the Kansas City Scalper. He’s a doll-collecting, serial-killing dog groomer in a velour tracksuit played with greasy ...

Yelena Belova Leads Thunderbolts to Box Office Success in Third Weekend

Info in Movie News | Thunderbolts, or The new Avengers is opening the third week of cinema programs and even in spite of its decline from the very first, it's still having a good run. In contrast to other Marvel movies which are powered by their old stars, this has a younger crew on the frontline, with Yelena Belova being the prominent one and whose character is tough and funny. Yelena is portrayed by Florence Pugh and has a chance to shine after being in the shadow of other characters in Black Widow and Hawkeye.

According to Collider, the movie called Thunderbolts made as much as $134 million in the US and $143 million internationally, reaching a global record of $277 million. This brought the combined total to $277 million worldwide, thus converting the movie into a box office success. If the production cost is assumed to be $180 million, the movie is already profitable and has recorded a good surplus. It is expected to pass $300 million globally and reach $150 million in both domestic and international markets soon.

Yelena’s journey as the new face of the Thunderbolts team is one of the movie’s biggest highlights. She leads the group with heart, humor and a clear sense of purpose. It is not a simple superhero movie. The movie has the character Yelena grow dealing with the loss of her sister, Natasha Romanoff. Her leadership brings a refreshing take to the Marvel formula, proving she can carry a movie on her own.

Joining her is Red Guardian, played once again by David Harbour. Their relationship built on father-daughter-like closeness is able to carry the aesthetics of extreme emotions as well as the comedy side. On the other hand, Lewis Pullman takes the first step in his MCU career by appearing as The Sentry, one of the most powerful albeit unsteady heroes with the deepest, darkest secrets. So his character is a major new source of tension injecting and is expected for future blockbusters with his story being as the main lead of the plot.

The movie has been positively accepted for the most part, as it has received a 88% rating from critics as well as 94% from audiences at Rotten Tomatoes. The crowd appreciates the closeness of the character, the performances of the actors, and the dark tone. Furthermore, it was the one that surpassed all the superhero movies we ever had at the box office, such as Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, Hulk (2003) and even Superman (1978).

While the speculation surrounding who might be the players in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday these days makes their rounds, the name that we keep hearing is Chris Evans. While he has denied involvement, fans remember how Andrew Garfield said the same thing before showing up in Spider-Man: No Way Home. With Robert Downey Jr. confirmed to return as a villain and Chris Hemsworth set to appear, the idea of Evans coming back as either Captain America or The Human Torch isn’t so far-fetched.

For now, though, Thunderbolts belongs to Yelena Belova. Her rise as a central figure in the MCU proves that the universe is in good hands moving forward. The movie is still playing in theaters, so catch it while you can.
