After saving Nevermore from the undead pilgrim Joseph Crackstone in Season 1, Wednesday has earned a cult-like following among her peers. However, the goth queen of gloom is rather unimpressed. However, the goth queen of gloom is not satisfied. “I liked it better when I was feared and hated,” she grumbles, while her peers gather around her, begging for autographs. But there’s no time for admiration, or personal space. Within minutes of the first episode, we’re introduced to a fresh villain, the Kansas City Scalper. Tony Tony Chopper Joins Netflix’s ONE PIECE Live-Action in Season 2

Tony Tony Chopper Joins Netflix’s ONE PIECE Live-Action in Season 2

Info in Movie News | The Straw Hats are setting sail again! Netflix's live-action ONE PIECE series will have a Hefty resurgence of the first season, the show has planned to return in 2026 with a thrilling new cast member, the stranger, and the fan favorite Tony Tony Chopper will finally debut.

Netflix announced that main characters Iñaki Godoy (Luffy), Mackenyu (Zoro), Emily Rudd (Nami), Jacob Romero (Usopp), and Taz Skylar (Sanji) spoke live during Netflix Tudum 2025: The Live Event on May 31 to introduce a teaser coming for 2nd Season. One of the biggest reveals was our first look at Chopper, the adorable blue-nosed reindeer in a giant pink hat.

Chopper is far from just a cute face. A reindeer who ate the Human-Human Fruit, he can talk, think like a human, and transform into various hybrid forms. Most importantly, he’s the Straw Hats’ doctor, and he dreams of curing every disease in the world. He’s loyal, sensitive, and tries to act tough, but his soft side always shows through.

For the live-action version, Chopper is being brought to life using CGI by award-winning visual effects studio Framestore, staying true to Eiichiro Oda’s original manga design. Actress Mikaela Hoover (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Beef) voices the character and also performed the facial capture for his animated expressions.

“What excited me about playing Chopper is the tug of war between his standoffishness and his huge heart,” Hoover said in an interview with Tudum. “He tries to hide his emotions, but underneath, he’s a big softy.”

Chopper made his debut in the manga in 2000, in Chapter 134. The anime, on the other hand, in Episode 81 was where he first was seen in 2001. Since then, he has been all over. He has starred in the Chopperman spin-off manga, appeared in various games, and merchandise (such as the “Choppertchi” Tamagotchi), and has become one of the crowd favorites in the franchise.

Tony Tony Chopper, that’s his name, and it came from the Japanese word ‘tonakai’, which means reindeer, and a reference to the fact that his antlers look like “chop” able trees.

Some very interesting facts are as follows: Chopper has a great desire for sweets such as cotton candy and chocolate, and is a hater of spicy food, and even puts syrup on his eggs. His regular routine involves waking up and going to bed early and taking several short naps during the day.

Celebrities are fans too. Actress Jamie Lee Curtis has declared Chopper her favorite ONE PIECE character, and Naruto creator Masashi Kishimoto also named him his favorite from the series. Even BTS member Jimin has been spotted with a Chopper figurine.

Season 2 of ONE PIECE is being produced by Tomorrow Studios in partnership with Shueisha and Netflix. With Chopper joining the crew, fans can expect even more heart, humor, and adventure on the high seas.
