Info in Movie News | Wednesday Addams is back at Nevermore Academy, and no, she’s not thrilled about it. With new enemies lurking, a stalker sending cryptic threats, and her name now plastered all over campus like some reluctant rockstar, Wednesday’s sophomore year is shaping up to be even stranger than the last. According to The Guardian, Season 2 opens with a flash of chaos. After saving Nevermore from the undead pilgrim Joseph Crackstone in Season 1, Wednesday has earned a cult-like following among her peers. However, the goth queen of gloom is rather unimpressed. However, the goth queen of gloom is not satisfied. “I liked it better when I was feared and hated,” she grumbles, while her peers gather around her, begging for autographs. But there’s no time for admiration, or personal space. Within minutes of the first episode, we’re introduced to a fresh villain, the Kansas City Scalper. He’s a doll-collecting, serial-killing dog groomer in a velour tracksuit played with greasy ...

Peacemaker Season 2 Brings Multiverse and New DCU Justice League Together

Peacemaker Season 2 Brings Multiverse and New DCU Justice League Together

Info in Movie News | Once seen as the most annoying character in The Suicide Squad, Peacemaker has somehow grown into one of the most beloved faces in the DC franchise. Played by John Cena, his solo series shocked everyone by combining brutal action with emotional depth and just the right amount of offbeat humor. Now, with Season 2 arriving this August, the character is not just returning, he’s stepping into a brand-new universe.

According to Collider, Peacemaker Season 2 will officially connect to the new DC Universe (DCU), built by James Gunn and Peter Safran. This shift leaves behind much of the chaotic DCEU timeline but keeps key elements that serve the story. For instance, Rick Flag’s death in The Suicide Squad still matters, especially now that his father, Rick Flag Sr. (played by Frank Grillo), is hunting Peacemaker. Such a storyline begins the season on a note filled with three things, namely, significance, maturation, and strain.

Additionally, the new season brings in other major DCU players such as Hawkgirl (Isabela Merced) and Green Lantern Guy Gardner(Nathan Fillion), who will both show up in the Superman movie to be released in July 2025. Their presence signals a more connected and intentional universe under Gunn’s vision, something the DCEU often struggled to achieve.

However, it just got crazier, the multiverse has become a topic for discussion. In the second season’s trailer, the character Peacemaker confronts another variant of his, one who supposedly has been doing well after the events of season 1. Although it seems as if this is a new and sudden twist, it was actually hinted at in season 1. Peacemaker's father, White Dragon (Robert Patrick), had hidden weapons and extra helmets in a small dimension of his. Now, this same dimension looks like a place to go through for the purpose of interstellar traveling between different universes.

This setup allows James Gunn to discover the multiplex DC timeline without resorting to The Flash which was poorly received. Instead of asking fans to tolerate the new faces of actors and characters and to forget the previous ones, Peacemaker can offer a smoother transition between the old and the new and they might still like it.

What singles out this season as better is its focus area. Despite the larger scope, there are new heroes, multiversal disorder, and the possibility of a new Justice League whereas the core of the program is Peacemaker himself. Quite imperfect, totally unexpected, and yet so nice, he embodies a different side of the DC hero world, a side that is actually the one that we are discovering as time goes on.

The second season of the series Peacemaker is expected to come out on August 21 on the platform HBO Max in the United States. If you are a hardcore lover of the DC Universe or just enjoy chaos, this one is for you and it deserves to get the green light for real-deal entertainment.
