Info in Movie News | Wednesday Addams is back at Nevermore Academy, and no, she’s not thrilled about it. With new enemies lurking, a stalker sending cryptic threats, and her name now plastered all over campus like some reluctant rockstar, Wednesday’s sophomore year is shaping up to be even stranger than the last. According to The Guardian, Season 2 opens with a flash of chaos. After saving Nevermore from the undead pilgrim Joseph Crackstone in Season 1, Wednesday has earned a cult-like following among her peers. However, the goth queen of gloom is rather unimpressed. However, the goth queen of gloom is not satisfied. “I liked it better when I was feared and hated,” she grumbles, while her peers gather around her, begging for autographs. But there’s no time for admiration, or personal space. Within minutes of the first episode, we’re introduced to a fresh villain, the Kansas City Scalper. He’s a doll-collecting, serial-killing dog groomer in a velour tracksuit played with greasy ...

Marvel’s New Fantastic Four Might Be the Most Standalone MCU Movie Yet

Marvel’s New Fantastic Four Might Be the Most Standalone MCU Movie Yet

Info in Movie News | It looks like Marvel Studios is finally taking the hint—fans are getting a little tired of needing to binge half the MCU just to keep up with one movie. That’s why Fantastic Four: First Steps might be exactly what the franchise needs right now. No cameos, no multiverse hopping, no “you had to see this other series to understand this scene” moments. Just a self-contained story in its own weird little corner of the Marvel universe.

According to Collider, director Matt Shakman confirmed that this new Fantastic Four takes place in an entirely separate universe from the main MCU timeline. That means no Tony Stark dropping in for a surprise scene, no crossover hints, no Easter eggs that require a YouTube breakdown. “We are our own universe,” Shakman said, adding that it’s been “liberating” to build something fresh without all the usual MCU connections. The Fantastic Four may eventually feature in Avengers: Doomsday and we have a source revealing that the cast will appear in the movie; the fans can enjoy the experience at that time, but as for now, they have the opportunity of living in their own world.

And yep, this world is a retro-futuristic take on the 1960s. It is such an interesting mix of the retro feel of the space age and yet the modernity of Marvel. Kevin Feige went on to say that this is not a story where these characters officially start their journey, it is indeed a relief. Gone are the days when there was a need to remember those long-ago films of such characters or sit through another cosmic accident montage. It starts at the first moment the plot is set and we go through the end.

The superstars on board are four in number: Pedro Pascal (Reed Richards / Mr. Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby (Sue Storm / Invisible Woman), Joseph Quinn (Johnny Storm / Human Torch), and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Ben Grimm / The Thing) are the main actors. Galactus is depicted by Ralph Ineson (such that's the Galactus) and Shalla-Bal (one of many Silver Surfers) is played by Julia Garner. All this in a film that is not choked with enduring series of 30 more MCU episodes right? The audience is in for a prize!

Fantastic Four: First Steps comes out in theaters on July 25, 2025. It seems possible at least this time not having to watch all of the previous MCU movies as a requirement to understand the new one. Nice, isn’t it?
