Chloë Grace Moretz Ready to Star in Psychological Thriller, The Edge of Normal

Info in Movie News | Chloë Grace Moretz made her come back in thriller genre with the film The Edge of Normal, which was directed by Carlota Pereda in the English movie domain for the first time. Moretz, who has played the lead character in Kick-Ass, Let Me In and The 5th Wave, will confront a new problem from a role packed with psychological tension.

The movie, according to Deadline, is extracted from the book by Carla Norton and brings in the story of Reeve LeClaire, a girl who is working hard to reconstruct her life again after she survived a terrible kidnapping when she was just in her teens. However, when her psychiatrist asks her to mentor another kidnapping victim, Reeve is dragged back into the nightmare that once haunted her.

Carlota Pereda, who previously gained attention for Piggy at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival, will direct the project with a screenplay written by Matt Venne (Dexter: Resurrection) and refined by Lori Evans Taylor (Final Destination: Bloodlines).

XYZ Films will handle the production and financing of this project, with support from IPR.VC. The production also involves Vanishing Angle and Andrew Deane and Ava Jamshidi from Industry Entertainment. Shooting is scheduled to begin this spring.

For Moretz, this film adds to her growing list of projects. One of the talented actresses, in addition to appear in the latest movie by Michael Showalter, Oh What Fun, with co-stars Michelle Pfeiffer and Felicity Jones will be the young Emmy winner Daisy Edgar-Jones. Not only is she going to be there, but she is also going to star in Love Language alongside Anthony Ramos.

Because of the combination of a substantial thesis and the participation of a highly qualified director, who will be behind the scenes, The Edge of Normal is likely to become a thriller that will win both the public and the critics too.
