Info in Movie News | Wednesday Addams is back at Nevermore Academy, and no, she’s not thrilled about it. With new enemies lurking, a stalker sending cryptic threats, and her name now plastered all over campus like some reluctant rockstar, Wednesday’s sophomore year is shaping up to be even stranger than the last. According to The Guardian, Season 2 opens with a flash of chaos. After saving Nevermore from the undead pilgrim Joseph Crackstone in Season 1, Wednesday has earned a cult-like following among her peers. However, the goth queen of gloom is rather unimpressed. However, the goth queen of gloom is not satisfied. “I liked it better when I was feared and hated,” she grumbles, while her peers gather around her, begging for autographs. But there’s no time for admiration, or personal space. Within minutes of the first episode, we’re introduced to a fresh villain, the Kansas City Scalper. 'Mufasa' Jumps to $671 Million Worldwide, 'Paddington in Peru' Surpasses $100 Million Milestone Internationally

Info in Movie News | “Mufasa,” the photorealistic prequel of “The Lion King,” continues to flex its box office muscles with a total $671 million in global ticket revenue.

Those rankings include $8.5 million from 52 overseas territories over the weekend, according to Variety. This Disney musical has collected $235 million domestically and $432.9 million internationally, making it the seventh highest-grossing movie of 2024, after eight weekends in wide release.

With minimal competition, it has grossed nearly $700 million worldwide. This would be a much-needed turnaround for cinemas after a slow lead-up to Christmas. While those numbers don’t come close to matching the earnings of its forerunner, Jon Favreau’s 2019 “The Lion King” remake ($1.66 billion, globally), this spin is essential for Disney because “Mufasa” is very expensive, production costs exceeding $200 million and $100 million in promotional costs.

In addition, in another animated pic that hit a global milestone, Paddington in Peru, the third chapter of the adventures of the adorable bear with a weakness for marmalade, grossed over $100 million at the international box office. The family-friendly animated film has grossed an impressive $104 million internationally prior to its release in the US and Canada on 14 February.

The first two films who all based on the children's series by British author Michael Bond, have seen much larger revenues abroad compared to the domestic market, and this third film seems set to continue that trend.

StudioCanal has fully developed and funded these three sequels, with Sony handling distribution in certain regions like the United States, Canada, and Latin America.
