However, the goth queen of gloom is not satisfied. “I liked it better when I was feared and hated,” she grumbles, while her peers gather around her, begging for autographs. But there’s no time for admiration, or personal space. Within minutes of the first episode, we’re introduced to a fresh villain, the Kansas City Scalper. Synopsis: The Flash (2023 film)

With super-speed, Barry Allen the superhero known as The Flash travels back in time to prevent the murder of his mother, Nora Allen. But his meddling with the timeline creates a world with no superheroes and facing destruction at the hands of General Zod, a Kryptonian warlord.

The Journey Begins

Barry is requested by Alfred and called to Gotham City to help Batman. As Batman chases down criminals who’ve stolen a deadly virus, Barry saves a crumbling hospital, carrying away babies and a nurse in an insane sequence. Following the mission, Barry returns to Central City, dealing with the emotional weight of his father Henry having been falsely imprisoned for the murder of Nora.

Driven by the hope of altering his family’s destiny, Barry seeks out Bruce Wayne, who warns him about the devastating impact of changing time. Ignore the warning, Barry goes back to the past, where he doesn’t offer any suggestions on how he could have saved Henry by not wearing a sticker, except for the fact that his mother catches the extra tomato sauce that was supposed to kill him when she murdered him. Except by the time he returns, Barry realizes he’s simulated an alternate future in which his own younger self is out there, and basically created a world of chaos.

An Alternate Reality

Barry's meddling with time wipes the Justice League off the map. But he discovers an older version of Bruce Wayne (Michael Keaton) and convinces him to join in the fight against Zod, who wants to terraform Earth into a new Krypton. Unfortunately, along the way, Barry finds Kara Zor-El (Supergirl) being held captive in a Siberian facility. Kara finds her strength under Earth’s sun, and becomes part of their mission.

The team works together to try and stop Zod. During the battle, Kara battles Zod, and Batman makes a selfless sacrifice to explode Zod's ship. Despite their best efforts, Zod kills Kara and starts his plan of terraforming Earth.

The Flash Faces Himself

In a desperate attempt to rectify the damage, young Barry makes repeated time trips to change things. Each effort compounds the mess, and the timelines start to collide, bringing on alternate versions of heroes like Superman and Batman.” Barry goes up against a dark, corrupted version of himself — “Dark Flash” — who’s been trying to force the timeline back into place for centuries and destroying it in the process. The heartbreaking revelation comes to Barry: certain moments, such as Nora’s death, are ineluctable.

Sacrifice and Resolution

In an emotional final act, Barry travels back to the past himself, undoes his changes, removes the tomato sauce, and lets fate take its course as it was supposed to. He experiences a touching altercation with his mother, incognito so she can’t recognize him. When Barry returns to his original timeline, his father’s alibi is proven thanks to minor tweaks he made while back in the past. But also his actions have lasting ramifications as he meets a separate version of Bruce Wayne (George Clooney).
