 | Jenna Ortega is in talks to star in an upcoming J.J. Abrams movie with Glen Powell. The actor known for “Wednesday” and “Beetlejuice 2” is said to be close to finalizing the deal for the untitled project.

Deadline (5/8) Falcon Myers is also said to be finalizing a deal to star in a film helmed by Cloverfield and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker director Glen Powell.

Details about the secretive project are scant. But the movie is not a time travel story — it's being written and produced by Abrams.

If both deals go through, the movie will have a blockbuster duo. Powell’s latest film “Top Gun: Maverick” and “Anyone But You” total were more than US$275 million worldwide.

Meanwhile, Jenna Ortega was hailed for her role in the week's top earner "Scream VI," which broke the previous best domestic opening (US$44.4 million) as well as best grossing in the United States for the franchise with $108.1 million.

“Wednesday,” which stars Ortega, became Netflix’s most viewed series ever, with 252.1 million global views.

Potentially her newest film, “Beetlejuice 2,” is projected to pull in $75 million to $84 million during its opening week in North America starting September 6. However, there has been no announcement of "Beetlejuice 2" being released in Indonesia.

On a different tack, J.J. Abrams' movie will be one of Glen Powell's last projects after appearing in "Twisters," which is set to release in 2024.

The 1988 born actor is also getting ready for a black comedy thriller titled "Huntington", which is at present reportedly in production stage. The film is also starring by Margaret Qualley.
