Gachiakuta Part 2 Returns This October, But the English Dub Faces Delay

Info in Movie News | The summer of 2025 was a huge win for anime fans as they received one of the most amazing treats of the year: Gachiakuta. Studio Bones made this a debut on July 6, 2025. Its fantastic visuals, bleak dystopian world, and awesome fight scenes were the main highlights that helped it to gain attention rapidly. However, just before the release of its second cour, there’s been some slightly disappointing news for international fans, the English dub schedule is about to change.

According to Collider, Gachiakuta’s upcoming cour will not release the English dub episodes simultaneously with the Japanese versions. From Episode 14 onwards, the dubbing releases will be delayed by a couple of weeks as compared to the original releases so that those people who like to watch in English will have to wait until October 26, 2025, to see the new episodes. This is quite a change from the initial episodes that were released in both versions on the same day. Although the team behind the scenes hasn't officially communicated the reason, people are guessing that the delay might be to enhance the audio quality of the whole and give the dubbing staff some extra time in a pretty tight fall anime schedule that is already going on.

Gachiakuta is a melodrama which takes its inspiration from the manga by Kei Urana and graffiti artist Hideyoshi Andou. The story follows Rudo, a young man from the ghetto who somehow manages to thrive in a decaying, garbage-filled city that is divided into the rich and the poor. Rudo, who was brought up and nurtured by his adoptive guardian Regto, goes through the scavenged leftovers of the privileged class to make a living. A severe blow comes into his life when he is wrongfully accused of a violent crime and is condemned to be thrown into The Pit, a desolate place beneath the earth, without any laws, inhabited by terrifying creatures, filled with decayed things, and hopelessness.

Rudo is forced to learn the ways of this pandemonium so that he can live and at the same time find out who planted the evidence against him. He becomes a member of a group called the Cleaners which comprises the personnel who have the mission of exterminating the monstrous creatures that have come into existence due to the accumulation of garbage. In this universe, some people called Givers have the ability to energize the things and thus turning a simple instrument into a weapon. While Rudo sharpens his abilities and delves into this merciless reality, he doesn’t take long to realize that he has been implicated in the violent war between Givers and their evil enemies, the Raiders.

According to the official website gachiakuta-anime.com, the second cour kicks off on October 12, 2025, with an episode titled “The Storm Before the Storm” (originally “Arashi no Mae no Arashi”). The episode introduces a completely new arc that deepens the conflict between the two factions and also brings in new characters like Zodyl, Bro, and Dear. To voice the role of Zodyl, the formidable leader of the Raiders, a new cast member, esteemed voice actor Shunsuke Takeuchi, is brought in.

In the background, Gachiakuta has a creative team that is nothing short of phenomenal. Hiroshi Seko is the script writer for the series that is directed by Fumihiko Suganuma. Among Hiroshi's Seko works (he is a widely recognized for: Attack on Titan, Chainsaw Man, and Jujutsu Kaisen), this one is also very famous. The person responsible for both the character design and the chief animation director is Satoshi Ishino, whereas Taku Iwasaki, who was the music composer for Bungo Stray Dogs, is coming back as the composer of the series.

Part 2 also features an all-new set of theme songs. The first song, “LET’S JUST CRASH,” by the band Mori Calliope, a virtual artist, was a mix of punk rock and grunge, which fitted well with the anime’s underground world. The new ending theme, “BAN,” by karanoah, brings a more reflective feeling to the work of art, thus balancing the insane energy of the story. A new trailer by Crunchyroll shows the fights and the emotional confrontations that Rudo and the Cleaners will face in the coming storm.

It is worth noting that the dubbing of Gachiakuta has been delayed slightly; however, the anime is still greatly supported by fans all over the world. On Reddit and X (formerly Twitter), fans write about the anime’s rough and edgy art style, the energizing fight sequences, and the incorporation of social issues such as the gap between the rich and the poor and revolt. The present average rating for Gachiakuta as per IMDb is 8.8/10, which is quite a convincing factor that the series is among the top action anime of 2025.

There could be a few viewers who may feel irritated with the tardiness of the dub and thus, may choose to discontinue the series altogether. However, some people think that it is a good decision which will probably result in better quality of production in the upcoming episodes. Gachiakuta Part 2 storyline gets more intense with the new conflicts on the horizon, more impassioned fights in store, and Rudo’s resolve to get back his honor.

Supporters won't have to wait for ages if they desire to plunge into the disorder again. The follow-up season of Gachiakuta is coming out only on Crunchyroll on October 12, 2025, and new episodes will be released every week.
