Info in Movie News | Wednesday Addams is back at Nevermore Academy, and no, she’s not thrilled about it. With new enemies lurking, a stalker sending cryptic threats, and her name now plastered all over campus like some reluctant rockstar, Wednesday’s sophomore year is shaping up to be even stranger than the last. According to The Guardian, Season 2 opens with a flash of chaos. After saving Nevermore from the undead pilgrim Joseph Crackstone in Season 1, Wednesday has earned a cult-like following among her peers. However, the goth queen of gloom is rather unimpressed. However, the goth queen of gloom is not satisfied. “I liked it better when I was feared and hated,” she grumbles, while her peers gather around her, begging for autographs. But there’s no time for admiration, or personal space. Within minutes of the first episode, we’re introduced to a fresh villain, the Kansas City Scalper. Karl Urban Brings a New Side of Johnny Cage to Mortal Kombat 2

Karl Urban Brings a New Side of Johnny Cage to Mortal Kombat 2

Info in Movie News | Mortal Kombat 2 is set to be one of the biggest action spectacles of the year. After the 2021 reboot received a mixed response, the sequel is ready to improve on many fronts, most notably by finally delivering the long-awaited Mortal Kombat tournament. This time, Earthrealm and Outworld will face off in an official battle that will decide the fate of both realms. At the center of this war are two major names, Johnny Cage, who finally makes his debut, and Noob Saibot, a dark new threat rising from the enemy’s side.

According to Collider, Karl Urban revealed that his take on Johnny Cage will be more complex and humanized. Unlike the flashy celebrity seen in the games, this version of Cage starts at rock bottom. His career is in ruins, he’s lost his confidence, and he’s abandoned martial arts entirely. However, when Earthrealm calls, Johnny must rediscover who he really is. “He starts off with no confidence but grows into a true warrior, and of course, fans will eventually see that classic Johnny swagger return,” Urban said.

The movie is thus back under Simon McQuoid's direction, and a screenplay by Moon Knight writer Jeremy Slater. Ed Boon, who created the Franchise, is still part of the team to make sure that every character of the story is loyal and that it remains consistent.

The fateful return of Mortal Kombat 2 is made even more thrilling with the unexpected discovery of a number of new characters from the opposing forces. To represent Earthrealm there are Kitana (Adeline Rudolph), Jade (Tati Gabrielle), and Bo’ Rai Cho. On the opposing side, Outworld brings in massive threats like Shao Kahn (Martyn Ford), Quan Chi (Damon Herriman), Sindel, and Baraka. But one of the biggest surprises comes with the arrival of Noob Saibot, the dark transformation of Sub-Zero.

Joe Taslim once again is the one who played Noob Saibot but also he was Bi-Han/Sub-Zero in the first movie. The evil incarnation of Sub-Zero after his death is Noob Saibot. In the Mortal Kombat universe, Bi-Han is killed by Scorpion and subsequently, Quan Chi resurrects him as Noob Saibot, a shadow fighter who is very skilled in teleportation and uses dark and cruel attacks. The sequel sees Bi-Han as Noob Saibot who is a much more dangerous villain than he was before.

The complicated connection between Scorpion and Noob Saibot (former Sub-Zero) will probably be the most emotional and intense story lines in the movie. With Hiroyuki Sanada reprising his role as Scorpion, the fans are likely to get a fiercely violent and deeply personal 'revenge match' that really focuses on their bitter rivalry.

Karl Urban also assured longtime fans that there will be plenty of classic video game references throughout the movie. “Johnny Cage will bring all his signature moves, we’ve packed the movie with details that will make fans smile,” he said.

Mortal Kombat 2 officially hits theaters on October 24, 2025. The tournament is underway, and both Johnny Cage and Noob Saibot are ready to steal the spotlight in the arena.
