Squid Game Season 3 Trailer Reveals Gi Hun’s Dark Return and New Games

Info in Movie News | Netflix has, with great delight, informed the audience that Squid Game Season 3 is about to make its premiere on June 27, 2025, and has spoiled everyone with a creepy new trailer, poster, and official stills to warm up for the event. With intense visuals and the revival of the old characters, this season appears to be the most dramatic one so far as it is committed yet again to Seong Gi Hun’s insider tactics in making the system collapse.

According to Soompi, the third installment picks up where things left off, with Gi Hun (played by Lee Jung Jae) returning to the deadly game, not for money, but for justice. The newly revealed poster shows Gi Hun standing solemnly among black coffins wrapped in pink ribbons, his eyes filled with rage after the failed rebellion and the loss of his friend Jung Bae (Lee Seo Hwan).

To bring it up to date, Season 1 saw the arrival of 456 desperate contestants for a twisted survival competition, all of them competing for a life-changing prize of 45.6 billion won. After winning, Gi Hun was left as the guilt-ridden sole survivor. In a surprising change of events, he made the decision to stay in Korea and fight the game's secretive organizers who he vowed to take down.

The game was just the beginning of the story in Season 2. Gi Hun's search for the truth led us to learn about the enigmatic Front Man (Lee Byung Hun), and his past as a former winner that turned into an overseer. The rebellion within the game failed, but cracks in the system began to show, suggesting bigger forces at play.

Now, in Season 3, the trailer starts off unsettlingly calm. Pink-suited guards carry a coffin into the dormitory, accompanied by a cheerful tune, until it’s revealed Gi Hun is inside, alive and staring back. Contestants are led into a new arena, where they draw colored balls before entering a maze-like structure with a knife-shaped door, hinting at unfamiliar and more dangerous games ahead.

A grand banquet scene suggests the return of the VIPs, absent last season, and points to the game’s final stretch. Contestants face mounting physical and psychological pressure, and Gi Hun isn’t the only one out for blood.

Meanwhile, Jun Ho (Wi Ha Joon) is still alive and chasing the game's hidden location, while No Eul (Park Gyu Young), unmasked and on her own, defies protocol in unknown ways. A haunting moment at the end of the trailer features a crying baby, pulling focus to Jun Hee (Jo Yu Ri), a pregnant contestant who’s caught in the middle of it all.

New stills show Gi Hun bruised and captured, while the Front Man appears composed and unreadable. Viewers now question whether the former Player 001, Yeong Il, is more deeply involved than previously known.

Returning and new contestants, including Myung Gi (Yim Si Wan), Dae Ho (Kang Ha Neul), Hyun Ju (Park Sung Hoon), and Min Su (David Lee), appear visibly drained as the game grows deadlier. One shot shows Jun Ho with an oxygen tank on a remote beach, possibly close to uncovering the game’s location at last.

Season 3 looks set to deliver more than just gore. It’s digging into revenge, identity, and survival at its most raw. The question remains, who, if anyone, will make it out this time?
