Gojo and Geto Return in Jujutsu Kaisen Movie Coming to US Theaters July 16

Info in Movie News | This summer is shaping up to be a major one for anime fans, especially those who’ve been following Jujutsu Kaisen since the beginning. GKIDS has just confirmed that the compilation movie Jujutsu Kaisen: Hidden Inventory / Premature Death will be hitting theaters in the United States on July 16. The movie was previously scheduled only for Japanese theaters, but now international fans will also get to experience the emotional flashback arc on the big screen.

According to Collider, the film compiles two major arcs from the anime series, Hidden Inventory and Premature Death. These episodes cover the background of the relationship of Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto, who were friends during the early days at Jujutsu High. Gojo, who is played in Japanese by Yūichi Nakamura and in English by Kaiji Tang, is a character known to be the best jujutsu sorcerer in the world of Jujutsu Kaisen, whereas Geto, whose voice is Takahiro Sakurai and Lex Lang, turns into a dangerous enemy of the hero.

The movie gives fans a chance to understand how their friendship fell apart. It shows how early disagreements over how to deal with non-sorcerers and cursed spirits slowly built tension, leading to a turning point that changed everything. Instead of typical action scenes, the emotional core of the film focuses on wasted potential, betrayal, and pride. It gives more depth to both characters and makes their future clashes even more heartbreaking

Just from the trailer, it is easy to see that when shown in cinema, this movie can easily be termed the best. By MAPPA this anime is made, the same people who made the series it is nice. The animation is pretty much the same as that of the main series, only that it is much more intense and fluid, perfect for the fast-paced scenes of battle and the themes of darker supernatural. The thrill will be more if watched from a big screen, especially for those fans who love the visual style of the series.

This new release is just another example of the trend. The Studios are now doing more anime film compilations, which are simply a way of repurposing episodes but turning them into huge cinematic events. Just in the previous month, we had Kaiju No. 8: Mission Recon debut with a film that condensed its first season into one action-heavy story. And don't forget; in the next month fans will be able to view the first season of DanDaDan, DanDaDan: Evil Eye, which also will be displayed in the theater without any intervals in the story.

Even though it gives fans fresh things to expect from this movie affectionately known, the fans are also made aware that the next season of Season 3 of the Jujutsu Kaisen series is still very far off. With an apology from the MAPPA, many even say it won't be there until 2026. Meanwhile, Hidden Inventory / Premature Death provides a wonderful opportunity to re-connect with the series and recall some of its most touching character moments.

In the U.S. theaters, look forward to Jujutsu Kaisen: Hidden Inventory / Premature Death on July 16. This is for you; don't forget to be at the theater to cheer on Gojo and Geto in their big screen journey.
