Zoë Kravitz in Talks to Direct How to Save a Marriage for Sony Pictures

Info in Movie News | Zoë Kravitz is ready to step behind the camera once again. Following her directorial debut with Blink Twice in 2024, the actress-turned-director is now in talks to helm a new feature movie titled How to Save a Marriage for Sony Pictures.

According to Deadline, the project is still in early development. However, the buzz is already building thanks to a strong creative team. The script is written by Ross Evans, who will also serve as executive producer. Robert Pattinson is attached as producer alongside his longtime collaborator Brighton McCloskey under their production banner, Icki Eneo Arlo. Geoff Shaevitz and Evan Silverberg from Entertainment 360 are also on board as producers.

Plot details remain under wraps, but industry insiders say the movie will carry the same edgy, psychological undertones that made Blink Twice such a breakout hit. That unique tone was reportedly a key reason why Kravitz was quickly identified as the right fit to direct the new project. Sony is said to have moved aggressively to secure the package when it became available, reflecting the studio’s renewed focus on high-profile creative partnerships following the Hollywood strikes.

If the deal goes through, How to Save a Marriage will mark a behind-the-scenes reunion between Kravitz and Pattinson, who previously starred together in Matt Reeves' The Batman (2022) as Selina Kyle and Bruce Wayne. While fans are already thrilled by the idea of them collaborating behind the scenes, many are also hoping Pattinson will make a surprise appearance on screen.

In the meantime, both stars are staying busy. Kravitz will next be seen opposite Austin Butler in Darren Aronofsky’s thriller Caught Stealing, set for release later this year. Pattinson recently returned to theaters in Bong Joon Ho’s Mickey 17, a sci-fi adventure about human clones used for high-risk space missions.  Despite being praised with generally positive reviews, the film was a bit of a failure at the box office after only earning $130 million worldwide by spending $118 million of the total budget.

Kravitz's "Blink Twice", a movie that featured Naomi Ackie and Channing Tatum, was a quiet cash success at the box office and was liked for the thriller-natured story that was told and for the stylish direction. The film was rated a 75% on Rotten Tomatoes and the 2-time increase of the initial budget of $20 million made approximately $48 million globally to the pockets of its creators.

With Kravitz advancing her directorial career, How to Save a Marriage might also be another substantial leap, what’s more, with Pattinson lending her a hand. We look forward to the opportunity to reveal the details of this amazing project.
