Emily in Paris Season 5: Emily Moves to Rome for a Fresh Start

Info in Movie News | The four seasons already passed have been dominated by relationships with love triangles, career problems, and fashion moments that could go viral on Instagram in Paris. Now, Emily in Paris is preparing to start over and actually move to a different city. Sure enough, Emily Cooper (Lily Collins) has already begun her journey to Rome and here, she expects to find fresh inspiration and work issues awaiting her.

According to Business Insider, filming for the fifth season is set to begin in May 2025 in Rome, with additional shoots planned in Paris over the summer. Netflix is aiming for a release before the end of the year, keeping with the show’s quick production-to-screen turnaround. Variety also confirmed that Netflix has extended its partnership with creator Darren Star shortly after season four’s second half aired.

Camille Razat, who’s played Camille since the beginning, won’t be returning. Her absence from Netflix’s official cast list aligns with how her storyline wrapped up last season, leaving Paris and preparing to adopt a child. So, while it’s a loss, it makes narrative sense.

Interestingly, that Lucas Bravo, who plays the character, Gabriel, is back and all that, despite the fact he himself expressed certain hesitancies earlier. Speaking to IndieWire, the young actor stated his dissatisfaction about the overly melancholic nature of his on-screen figure. “Three seasons of playing sad and lost, it’s not fun anymore,” he said. However, something in the new scripts must’ve changed his mind.

Season four ended with Emily accepting a new position leading Agence Grateau’s Rome office and beginning a romance with Marcello (Eugenio Franceschini), an Italian fashion heir. With Gabriel and Alfie out of the picture, Emily is stepping into a new phase of life, professionally and personally.

The upcoming season promises more than just a change of scenery. Between the sun-drenched streets of Rome, fresh dynamics among familiar faces, and Emily’s ever-evolving love life, season five could bring the most refreshing version of the show yet, with all the charm, fashion, and drama fans love, now with a splash of Italian flair.
