Info in Movie News | Wednesday Addams is back at Nevermore Academy, and no, she’s not thrilled about it. With new enemies lurking, a stalker sending cryptic threats, and her name now plastered all over campus like some reluctant rockstar, Wednesday’s sophomore year is shaping up to be even stranger than the last. According to The Guardian, Season 2 opens with a flash of chaos. After saving Nevermore from the undead pilgrim Joseph Crackstone in Season 1, Wednesday has earned a cult-like following among her peers. However, the goth queen of gloom is rather unimpressed. However, the goth queen of gloom is not satisfied. “I liked it better when I was feared and hated,” she grumbles, while her peers gather around her, begging for autographs. But there’s no time for admiration, or personal space. Within minutes of the first episode, we’re introduced to a fresh villain, the Kansas City Scalper. He’s a doll-collecting, serial-killing dog groomer in a velour tracksuit played with greasy ...

DanDaDan: Evil Eye Hits Theaters Before Season 2 Premiere, Here’s What to Expect

Info in Movie News | Anime fans have a lot to look forward to this year as DanDaDan gears up for a major return. Instead of heading straight to streaming, the hit series is making a special stop in theaters first. Titled DanDaDan: Evil Eye, the compilation film will showcase the first three episodes of Season 2 and is set to premiere worldwide on June 6. The full new season will officially drop on July 3.

According to Collider, the new Evil Eye trailer wastes no time and immediately introduces the season’s newest villain, The Avatar of Hatred. With a chilling design and a deadly third eye, this new enemy is not pulling any punches. Okarun (voiced by Natsuki Hanae in Japanese and A.J. Beckles in English) is the one stepping up to battle him head-on. Meanwhile, Momo (Shion Wakayama/Abby Trott) and Turbo Grandma (Mayumi Tanaka/Barbara Goodson) are stuck trying to survive a haunted mansion that they wandered into at the end of Season 1.

The trailer also confirms that DanDaDan’s distinct visual style is back and better than ever. The color purple dominates key scenes, becoming a strong symbol of The Avatar of Hatred’s presence. GKIDS has also revealed that the theater screenings will feature exclusive content just for moviegoers, though they have yet to share exactly what that includes. It could be an extended look at what’s coming later in Season 2, but fans will have to hit the theaters to find out.

Fans of DanDaDan will recognize this strategy. Last year, GKIDS released DanDaDan: First Encounter with a similar approach, showing the first three episodes of Season 1 in select theaters. Despite the limited release, it pulled in over $1 million, a strong result that helped grow the anime’s momentum. Since then, the series’ popularity has exploded. Season 1 averaged around 3 million viewers per week on Netflix and even became the most streamed non-English title in the second half of 2024.

With such a strong fanbase now in place, expectations for DanDaDan: Evil Eye are sky-high. The early reveal of The Avatar of Hatred raises some big questions too. Will he stay the main antagonist all season long, or is he just the beginning of something even bigger? Either way, it looks like Season 2 will be packed with surprises and high-energy battles.

DanDaDan: Evil Eye premieres in theaters on June 6, 2025. The full second season debuts on July 3, 2025. Get ready for an epic summer!
