On the mystical Angel Island, a young blue hedgehog named Sonic is born with extraordinary powers. His abilities attract unwanted attention, forcing him to live in isolation with his guardian, Longclaw, a wise anthropomorphic owl. Tragedy strikes when Sonic’s carelessness leads enemies to their hideout. In a desperate bid to save him, Longclaw sends Sonic through a teleportation ring to Earth, sacrificing herself to protect him.
On the magical Angel Island, a young Hedgehog with blue quills, named Sonic, is born with uncanny abilities. His abilities garner unwanted attention, leading him to an isolated life with his guardian, Longclaw, a wise anthropomorphic owl. Sonic’s carelessness leads enemies to their hideout, and tragedy strikes. In a last-ditch, heroic effort to save him, Longclaw teleports Sonic through a ring to Earth, sacrificing herself to shield him from attack.
Now stuck in the suburban town of Green Hills in Montana, the lovable hero Sonic lives under cover while watching from a distance the townspeople — especially Sheriff Tom Wachowski (James Marsden), a sweet but dissatisfied police officer, and his wife, Maddie (Tika Sumpter), a warmhearted veterinarian. Sonic’s loneliness reaches critical mass when his pent-up energy triggers a massive electromagnetic pulse that draws the attention of the U.S. government. They turn to the kooky and brilliant scientist, Dr. Ivo Robotnik, whose love of all things robotics and power make him a dangerous foe
Robotnik’s relentless pursuit provides some impetus for Sonic to reveal himself to Tom, who responds to the “just because you’re different doesn’t mean you’re bad” message by becoming Sonic’s friend. They go on a road trip to retrieve Sonic’s missing teleportation rings in San Francisco, all while avoiding Robotnik’s high-tech arsenal. It also teaches Sonic the importance of friendship and family, culminating in an epic battle along the way, where Sonic uses his incredible speed and powers to defeat Robotnik and exiles him to the Mushroom Planet.
Robotnik, now on the Mushroom Planet, teams up with Knuckles the Echidna in the sequel, a powerful warrior on a quest for the highly destructive Master Emerald, an object of great power. Meanwhile Sonic’s adventures lead him to meet Tails, a whip-smart, two-tailed fox who idolizes him. Sonic and Tails must team up to try and stop Robotnik and Knuckles from using the Emerald’s energy for evil.
In the climactic conflict, Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles come together to defend the Emerald and disperse Robotnik. Now with newfound friends and a wish to be a part of something, Sonic commits to living on Earth permanently.

On the Mushroom Planet, Dr. Robotnik spends 243 days in exile before designing a machine to go back home. But his experiment sets off an energy explosion that opens a bottomless portal, unleashing Knuckles, a fierce warrior devoted to defending the Master Emerald. When Knuckles shows up as an opportunity for revenge on Sonic, Robotnik teams up with him.
In Seattle, Sonic attempts to become a hero by thwarting a group of bank robbers. His well-meaning attempts only result in chaos, and upon returning to Green Hills, his adoptive dad, Tom, informs Sonic that he should just sit on his new powers until the time is right for him to responsibly use his abilities.
When Tom and Maddie go to a wedding in Hawaii, Sonic encounters Tails, a two-tailed fox who warns him about Robotnik and Knuckles. Before long, Knuckles and Robotnik are attacking Sonic’s home, and a heated battle ensues. Sonic and Tails flee, but they set off on a mission to put the pieces of the Master Emerald together before it ends up in the wrong hands.
The take a trek to Siberia, facing challenges such as snowstorms and unfriendly locals. In the meantime, Tails explains the Emerald can transform thoughts into reality. Dressed with Sonic and Tails, bowing down to a compass guiding to the Emerald, just for Robotnik and Knuckles to take it from him.
When all else fails, Sonic reaches out to Tom for assistance, disrupting Rachel’s wedding. Meanwhile, Robotnik manages to acquire the Master Emerald and harnesses its power to construct a massive robot. Sonic, Tails and Knuckles team up to defeat him. In an epic showdown, Sonic uses the power of the Chaos Emeralds to destroy the robot and Robotnik.
Knuckles, who had initially set out for the Emerald for revenge, chooses to guard the Emerald with Sonic and Tails. Now they are part of a new team responsible for protecting the universe.

1. Sonic the Hedgehog (Ben Schwartz)
Sonic, a motion picture with blue on it, runs as a blue hedgehog with empathy levels to our own and the same holistic perspective.
2. Dr. Ivo Robotnik (Jim Carrey)
A weird scientist is a collection of the very best qualities of scientists and improper use of artificial intelligence-driven robots. As a result, he becomes a kind of court jester beyond an intelligent mastermind, which makes the material both funny and frightening.
3. Tom Wachowski (James Marsden)
Tom puts on a badge to keep a small, peaceful mountain town out of trouble, but it is his encounter with Sonic that actually ends up forging him into a man after his own heart. He is the type of guy with a modest yet strong disposition, despite bristling at incorrectness.
4. Maddie Wachowski (Tika Sumpter)
Most importantly, he is the husband of the main character who happens to be a cool professional. Given her talents, Maddie cannot only be a homemaker but also is the one to give advice and emotional support to her husband and Sonic who is recovering from his injuries and slowly introduces him to his new, non-blood family.
5. Longclaw (Donna J. Fulks)
A seasoned owl that acts as a motherly figure to Sonic and loves him very much, Longclaw is killed while shielding Sonic from the lethal attacks of the Echidnas. From the whistleblower, the Sonic movie issue is stated that by convention, the most beloved characters are pushing through the line of minimum changes to avoid damage to the Sonic brand.
6. Miles "Tails" Prower (Colleen O’Shaughnessey)
A two-tailed anthropomorphic fox merely goes by the name Sonic with the interest of performing acrobatic stunts that illustrate the plot in the stories. With Tails finding the tail enhancement services too daunting to go through, a feeling of replacement of a pilot with a drone is transpired.
7. Knuckles the Echidna (Idris Elba)
His robotic mercenaries will always be the security apparatus for Green Hills, Montana if he has nothing better. Sucker-punched, Robotnik makes the public believe that he is the only one qualified to look after the emerald, showing his followers his good dodging force.
8. Rachel (Natasha Rothwell)
Maddie’s big sis who does not approve of Tom but still makes the audience laugh due to her loud and strong character.
9. Agent Stone (Lee Majdoub)
Doctor Eggman’s faithful servant who loves and supports his evil plans.
10. Commander Walters (Tom Butler)
A city leader who hires Doctor Robotnik to look into the electrical black-out event caused by Sonic.
11. Crazy Carl (Frank C. Turner)
A conspiracy theorist in Green Hills who believes in Sonic’s existence.
12. Jojo (Melody Nosipho Niemann)
Mrs. Wachowski's young niece with whom Sonic is slowly building a bond.
