The movie "Origin (2018)," a science fiction thriller, from the very start, sets on a spaceship "Origin" bound for waiting for the humans on a new planet Thea which is a daring journey to a new world and new home capable of human life. Just as the story opens, Shun Kenzaki is awakened from a deep sleep and he is out of his senses as he grabbles that he has no memory and on top of that, to his dismay, the spaceship seems to be invading him with sirens all over with alert alarms. With Lana Pierce, another passenger of the spaceship, he decides to explore their surroundings and they suddenly realize that the only ones who have woken up are the passengers while the entire crew remains in deep sleep. The four of them, equipped not only with the absence of the crew members and the realization that something suspicious is going on, will now investigate the vessel.

Shun Kenzaki:
- Despite the fact that Bother Shun was a member of the Yakuza from Tokyo, he was on a mission to Thea to run away from his criminal past he was guilty of. His brother Takeshi, a police officer, advised him to go to Thea and to clear his mind. Takeshi was the one who was killed by Yakuza, which was the reason why Shun left the Earth.
Lana Pierce:
- A determined and African-passenger Alana who commits to Shun's leadership and the two embark on a quest to solve the disaster of the spaceship which was deserted.
Baum Arndt:
- An African girl Alana who is very willing to accept Shun's leadership and the two together go on an adventure to find the solution behind the disaster of an empty spaceship."
Lee Jeong-in:
- Another passenger was involved in the inquiry and helped in the arrangement and system setup which revealed the situation of the ship.
Their exploration inside the ship took them to a control room where there was a lot of abandoned food and bloodstains, which suggested that the people had left in a hurry. We see through flashbacks, Shun's former life, which shows him struggling with a life of crime and the tragic death of his brother. The crew members should survive the vessel’s hostile atmosphere, try to reveal some of the shadows of the ghosts of their past and establish the bases of their being alive until Thea is able to send a rescue team or they can get out of the place somehow.
Origin is a thrilling and intricate narrative that takes place in space and cleverly mixes the characters' pasts with the enigma of what is going on inside the spaceship.
